Planetary protection by Betelgeuze01 Planetary protection by Betelgeuze01
Concept art for a space combat simulator project I'm working on for school. Made in Photoshop with a wacom.

One team has to defend it's homeplanet from the asteroids, the other team has to prevent the first team to destroy the asteroids before the reach the planet

I've only just started myself ;)

I had a look at your gallery, not bad! Do you use a wacom tablet?

Ah! the wonders of this type of gameplay. Looks like a great idea. Just wondering, that at some point you can always step it up a notch, with 2 planets assualted by asteroids and so both teams have to attack AND defend. I really like that strike fighter type ship there and I'd assume quick speed and fire rate, but poor damage and defenses?

Thanks for the great comment and suggestions. This project is only a small project we are going to work on for a couple of months with a very small team, it's a school project so are main goal is to get the very basics of the gameplay ready, if there's more time we can experiment with different gameplay modes (we are probably going to use LUA to make it easy to edit/mod the gameplay code)

That's really great. How did you make that cool looking planet?
